Local Skaters Join Santa & his Elves on the Ice for a Holiday Lighting and  Spectacular Fireworks Show

East Meadow, Long Island – NEFCU’s Holiday Dreams on Ice, a holiday skating spectacular featuring national and local skaters is coming to Twin Rinks Ice Center at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY, December 20.

NEFCU, Long Island’s leading credit union, is this year’s title sponsor. The show will star Long Island Native and 2014 Olympic & World Alternate Samantha Cesario, Olympians & US National Silver Medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates, Olympian & Israeli National Champion Alexei Bychenko, along with Santa and his skating elves, who come together to light their Christmas tree and celebrate the holiday season. The festive show will highlight young skaters from Nassau County and the surrounding areas in an electrifying holiday number. The night will culminate with a fireworks show over the outdoor rink.

“It’ll be an exciting night for kids and adults alike, as Long Island will be treated to some spectacular skating from local performers,” said Edward P. Paternostro, president and CEO of NEFCU.  “The tree-lighting, the fireworks and the skating all add up to a fun night that we hope will become a part of Long Island’s holiday tradition.

Youth skaters can sign up to skate in the show by visiting or at Twin Rinks. Free admission for Standing Room Only; limited seating options are available for purchase at Twin Rinks.

The Show WILL Go On — At Cantiague Park This Sunday, December 16, at 7 pm!

Important Announcements re: Holiday Dreams on Ice 2012!

Due to the unfortunate weather forecast for Sunday 12/16, our show venue has been changed!!

It will NOT be held at Christopher Morley Park – we are moving to Cantiague Park in Hicksville, NY.

We were so looking forward to bringing our winter holiday performance to the beautiful outdoor arena at Christopher Morley; however, the weather is clearly not on our side for this year’s show (first Hurricane Sandy ruins our Brooklyn rink, then rain pours at Christopher Morley!!). Unfortunately, rain is also in the forecast for next Saturday 12/22, which was our rain date for HDOI 2012.

As we are determined to ensure that the show must go on, we are EXTREMELY thankful to Nassau County, County Executive Ed Mangano, and Parks Commissioner Carnell Foskey who have once again shown incredible generosity and goodwill to save our holiday show! We are pleased to announce that Holiday Dreams on Ice will STILL be held on Sunday 12/16 at 7 pm, now in the Cantiague Park Ice Arena!

This new rink is only a 10-minute drive from Christopher Morley Park. We realize that this is not ideal, but we are so thankful that we are able to ensure that the show goes on for all of our future stars, Olympic performers, the Long Island community, and our figure skating family. Moving the show to an indoor facility allows us to keep the show at its scheduled time and place with our scheduled performers, and prevents us from running into yet another weather-related roadblock. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cannot thank you enough for sticking with us through our hurricane dilemma, date changes, and venue changes. Your flexibility and open-mindedness has truly shown us the meaning of the holiday spirit this season!

With the change in venue, we do have some changes in seating availability and ticket types.

For those of you who have purchased the VIP ticket package, you will still receive VIP On-Ice Seating and your pass to the VIP After Party, with Skater Meet & Greet.

For those of you who purchased the $75 On-Ice Seating, you have 2 options:

1) You can keep your on-ice seating tickets which will include a guaranteed first row ‘on-ice’ seat at the show.

2) You can receive a partial refund of $50 and swap your ticket for the new general admission seating, which will be $25 and in the bleachers. If you are interested in this option, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL to with details on how many tickets you purchased, and how many you need to be refunded for.

Please note: There will no longer be standing-room-only tickets. Our new rink in Catiague Park has full bleacher seating. These seats will be sold for just $25. You can purchase $25 General Admission Tickets on the night of the show, or click here. Please do not call the ticketing service with requests or questions, as they will not be able to assist you with changes in ticketing!

We anticipate many questions and concerns, so we appreciate your patience as we work to ensure that Holiday Dreams still come true this year! Any questions can be directed to, or call 917-565-6781 during business hours. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible while we are making re-arrangements for our new indoor venue on Sunday!

See you all soon! Thank you again for your cooperation!
